¡@ LENE Marlin's vocals, clear, light and direct, create a dominant silence like a shaft of light from the northern horizon. Playing My Game portrays an evocative Marlin, like the Marlene Deitrich you wished lived next door, and enters the musical A-list of Scandinavian success stories. This very very good album is thoroughly well written and well done. The sound is spare and eloquent that listening reveals gossamer wings made of carbon fibre. The cool Scandinavian reserve is amply evident on Sitting Down Here and Unforgivable Sinner. Contrary to the song title, Marlin can consider absolution granted. The album's production is equally light, with nothing of the overwhelming pretentiousness of, say, Madonna. The vocals and instrumentation are all produced with remarkable clarity and cohesiveness. It's the first time for me to see Lene's name appeared on the press in Hong Kong. Since Lene's not yet familiar here, I've not seen her on TV or magazine so far. Even her album is not sold in every CD shops. But I'm so lucky coz I can know her from my European friend, also I can know a lot from the websites!! I'll post whatever I've read in HK about Lene here and I do hope Lene'll be famous here soon!! (and it's my belief)
Oh...my friend's just told me that she's once seen Lene's MTV (Unforgivable Sinner) 2-3 weeks ago, which is before the 1st time I heard about Lene...so I've missed the chance!
